Little Miss Amelia ·One Year Studio Portraits·

Hello Dears!

Can you believe Miss Amelia is already a year old?! It seems like we just finished up her newborn session last week. Please. Stop. Growing.

It was so good to see Tiffany and Eric again, because they're just about as sweet as can be! For their maternity and newborn session they opted to stay in home, so they wanted to try something a little different for Amelia's one year session. Since they're such fans of lifestyle sessions, we decided to head over to the studio!

This session is particularly special to me because it was one of the first sessions I shot in the studio and I absolutely love how it turned out! Amelia looks so grown up in her short qipao, which is the beautiful purple dress she's wearing. I love when we're able to include things that mean a lot to your family and family history. It just makes the photos that much more special. So in case you were wondering, yes please do bring that 100 year old blanket that belonged to your great great grandma, or the teddy bear that Paw Paw played with as a child. You won't regret it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Dears!

We can't talk about anything until we talk about that smile. I mean come ON. Baby Hudson definitely nailed the grin game during his in-home session. It's always so much fun when I get to catch newborns smiling. I don't care if it was gas, I'll take it!

When I walked into Ashley and Mark's home and a winter episode of Gilmore Girls was playing on the tv, I knew I was in good company! Yes.please. Not to mention everything about the home was absolutely stunning. I had to keep my admiration under control. The lighting was super dreamy and baby Hudson was super cozy the whole time--what more can a gal ask for? A sleepy, smiley baby. Pretty lighting. Gilmore Girls. I'm good for the day, friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

Kim, Ian, + Daisy ·Lake Hefner Maternity Session·

Hello dears!

It's Friday, and you know what that means! We're just days away from the finale of Big Little Lies. (That's what you were expecting me to say, right?) I know I'm not the only one who's on pins and needles waiting for all.the.answers. Who's with me? If you have any amazing theories as to what happens, leave them in the comments! I'm SO sucked in and it's definitely got me stumped!

The literature nerd in me wants to rewatch the show, just to pay closer attention to the scenes with the ocean. There's definitely some symbolism going on there, right? Or maybe I'm just overthinking it because we've got a SERIOUS Moana phase happening in our house. Either way, I love the ocean and have serious dreams of living near it some day. I guess that's why I like spending time at Lake Hefner so much...because sometimes you just take what you can get!

When Kim said she wanted to take her maternity photos at the lake AND they were bringing their fluffy pup along, I was so game. The weather was perfect, the sun was beautiful, and Kim and Ian made photo magic. I love these photos so much, I immediately ordered a sample for the studio with them. Hop on over to my Instagram @courtneydespainphoto to see it!
